Torsonator Unearthed

The Torsonator Unearthed is the latest addition to Iron Edge's Torsonator range - it is the cheapest, lightest and most portable of the Torsonator family.

By stripping away anything unecessary and reducing the Torsonator to its very essence (basically the barbell sleeve and pivot that allows the unique rotational movement), Iron Edge came up with a mere 6.7kg free-standing version that can be anchored to the floor with an Olympic sized weight plate.  Ideally, a 20kg or 25kg plate should be used to anchor it for heavy or explosive work, but you can get away with something as light as 10kg for less demanding training.

Of course, the Torsonator Unearthed can do everything any other Torsonator can do, namely:

• Develop exceptional rotational power and torsional force
• Train the core in standing, kneeling, sitting and lying positions.  In particular, training the core from a standing position has excellent carry over to many athletic pursuits and everyday life (you don't walk, run, lift or carry objects lying down).
• Train the entire body - it's not just limited to core training.
• Train strength, power and plyometrics.
• Allow you to do a full-contact twist and T-bar rows without destroying a corner of your training space and without risk of the barbell coming unstuck.

On top of that, for around the price of a Single Torsonator you can get a pair of Torsonator Unearthed and get all the benefits of Double Torsonator - the number of exercises you can do increases dramatically when you add double and alternating variations.
