Why Storage?

It’s not the sexiest line of equipment going around but it may be one of the most necessary. Like a pizza, fuss all you want about the toppings but it’s not going to work without a decent base. Storage options are either attached to a rack, wall-mounted or free standing.

Every gym has plates, and you’re going to need somewhere to put them when they’re not being used. Leaving them on barbells all the time may cause premature warping, which no-one wants.

The most convenient plate storage option is typically Utility Pegs, which fit onto all Iron Edge racks (except for Squat Stands). Utility Pegs come with every Assault Rack and Iron Cage, and additional Pegs can also be purchased for additional storage (please note that the Assault Rack Storage Frame can hold 3 x Pegs each side at once, and the Iron Cage can hold 4 x Pegs each side).

For a separate solution, we can either use a Wall Mounted Plate Storage unit, Toaster Rack or Weight Tree. Wall Mounted Plate Storage units obviously require wall mounting, and are the most space efficient. Weight Trees will hold the most plates out of any storage option, and Toaster Racks provide the easiest access to any given plate.

Barbell Storage Shop Now

To keep your barbells out of the way when not in use, they are to be stored either horizontally using a wall mounted Gun Rack or using a vertical option. Specialty bars are typically best stored using a Vertical Barbell Rack.

We offer 2 different Gun Racks which can hold either 6 or 20 bars at once, catering for gyms of varying size. If you have specialty bars like a Safety Squat Bar or Trap Bar, this may not be the best fit as they will take up additional spots or jut beyond the rack; but for traditional barbells this is a space and cost-efficient method of storing several bars at once and is as practical as can get.

If you only have 1-3 bars on hand, our smallest option is the Barbell Storage – Wall Mount unit and the Barbell Storage – Iron Cage unit (suitable for use with an Iron Cage only), which can hold up to 3 bars at once. Similar to the Gun Rack, our speciality bars such as the Safety Squat Bar and Swiss Bar will not be compatible with these options due to the diameter of the shaft.

For speciality bars, or barbell storage where wall mounting is not an option, our Vertical Barbell Rack can hold 9 bars at once and takes up a relatively small footprint of 49cm x 42cm.

Band Storage Shop Now

Bands can be hung up using our Modular Rack Band Pegs that are mounted either to a wall or a Modular Rack; or stored using a Modular Rack Basket. We also stock Band / Rope Wall Mounts which are thicker in comparison.

Hanging storage options are also available through the us of our Utility Storage attachment. This storage option can be mounted to both a modular rack and wall and will act as a larger storage option for bands.

Generally equipment is best stored using a Modular Rack. Our Modular Racking is designed so that you can customise what shelves you wish to use; a flat Heavy Duty Shelf, a Dual Pipe Shelf or a Basket.

Our Heavy Duty Shelves are suited for items that will not roll around, such as Hex Head Dumbbells or Kettlebells. Our Dual Pipe Shelves are designed for balls to sit between, such as Medicine Balls and Dead Balls. Finally, the Basket is designed to hold loose items like Power Bands, Massage Balls and more. The shallow, mesh design allows for maximum visibility and easy access.

Accessories for the Modular Rack include Band Pegs (for band storage, funnily enough) and a Foam Roller Storage unit that attaches to the side.

New to the Modular Rack family is our Modular Rack Upright Adaptor. This will allow the above shelves to be mounted to an upright, and attached to your existing Assault Rack, Iron Cage or Matrix; providing you literally every piece of equipment you will need within arm’s reach.

Aside from Modular Racks, Power Ropes can be stored using our Band / Rope Wall Mount, keeping them off the floor and maximising space.

Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve got so many plates lying around, what will get as much of these off the ground as possible?

A Weight Tree.

How many Utility Pegs can I fit on to my rack?

It depends on your rack. A Matrix upright or Iron Cage upright can hold up to 4 Utility Pegs (8 total). An Assault Rack upright can hold up to 3 (6 total).

Our Utility Pegs will be bolted to your rack, and cannot be removed without the use of tools. For this reason, if you wish to have multiple Utility Pegs we recommend using a separate upright to your J-Hooks and Spotting Arms.

I want my Modular Rack to have 3 flat shelves. Is this possible?

Yes. The Modular Rack designs we have on the website are pre-set suggestions. We can customise with whatever quantity of shelves you desire

Our 877mm Modular Rack sides can hold 3 shelves at once; our 1582mm sides can hold 4 shelves

Can I wall mount the Modular Rack Band Rope Peg?

Yes you can.

Can I adjust the height of the Modular Rack – Foam Roller Storage unit?

Yes. This can attach to the same height as any of our shelves; just on the opposite side.

I have an Assault Rack. Can I use the Modular Rack Upright Adaptor?

Yes. All of our Assault Racks, Iron Cages and Matrixes are compatible with the Modular Rack Upright Adaptor. You will simply need to add an upright to support the other side of the shelves

I’ve got a specialty bar. Where can I store this?

Our Vertical Barbell Rack is the best option for storing odd-shaped bars
