OUR heritage

Iron Edge's serious training mission started back in 2002. At the time, company founder Rick Ravensdale was an accomplished athlete and personal trainer. But he was frustrated. He couldn't understand why most training equipment was so inadequate at developing dynamic, functional athletes. So Rick studied the way professional strength athletes trained - especially the dominant Russian Olympians. And that's how he discovered kettlebells.

Back then kettlebells were confined to Russia. No-one would send Rick one. So, with the help of a local cabinet maker and foundry, Rick made his own. The impact the kettlebell had on Rick's training was immediate. More strength. More power. And so, with nothing more than a maxed out credit card, Rick started manufacturing kettlebells in Australia. Iron Edge was born.
